GRADUATION AND DISMISSAL
The graduation ceremony will be held 1830-1900 (6:30pm-7pm) on Saturday 14 June 2025 at the *Tentative: EAGLE RIVER HIGH SCHOOL* football field (8701 Wolf Den Dr, Eagle River, AK 99577). Guests are asked to not arrive until *after* 18:00 (6pm). Guests will be directed to the graduation parking area upon arrival. Please note that there are *no* restrooms or porta-potties provided. There is no shade, no protection from the rain, and no refreshments available. We encourage you to bring your own water to drink and sunscreen! Cadet students' luggage will be staged at the graduation area. Students will be dismissed after graduation and out-processing *at* the graduation location as soon as the ceremony is complete.
Cadet cadre (staff) will return to the barracks within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the graduation ceremony and will be picked up at the barracks or the Boniface Gate (or transported to the Airport) only after the barracks are in a condition to return to our host. <<<DATE/TIME CADRE RELEASED to be determined based on barracks cleanliness>>

ENCAMPMENT DESCRIPTION
The 2025 AKWG Summer Encampment is a week-long activity that provides the cadet with a foundation to build on their Civil Air Patrol careers. The encampment will provide cadets with the opportunity to:
- Apply knowledge gained in the cadet and senior programs to practical situations.
- Develop a greater understanding of Civil Air Patrol and Air Force missions and capabilities.
- Develop leadership potential, discipline, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Learn how to overcome challenges and succeed through critical thinking.
- Enhance their local unit’s cadet program.
- Aid in retention and motivation.
- Receive an introduction to the military-style training of the Civil Air Patrol.
- Build self-confidence.
- Experience esprit de corps and the warrior spirit.
First-time cadets can expect to be mentally and physically challenged during a busy and exciting week of hands-on leadership development training, aerospace events and local on-site activities. Cadets returning as staff will be challenged even further through the leadership roles they will fill and staff duties they will perform. All cadets will be introduced to the military, learn to overcome challenges, develop time-management skills, enhance their interpersonal skills and have a great time.

ELIGIBILITY
First-time cadets must have completed their Curry Achievement/attained the rank of Cadet Airman (C/Amn) before arriving at encampment.
Cadet students (both first-time students and Advanced Training School students) who will be 18 or older on the first day of encampment must complete Cadet Protection Policy Training prior to applying.
Cadet cadre registrants must have earned the Wright Brothers Award (C/SSgt) (verified in eServices), completed Operational Risk Management Basic and Intermediate Courses, and Introductory Communications User Training (ICUT) prior to arriving at encampment. For cadets 18 and older, completion of Cadet Protection Policy Training is required prior to encampment.
Senior Member staff must have completed Level 1, Operational Risk Management Basic and Intermediate Courses, and the Cadet Protection Policy Training courses prior to arriving at encampment. Completion of ICUT is highly recommended as is a current CAP Driver's License (please check to confirm you renewed yours when you renewed your Alaska Driver's License)

Payment Methods
During the registration process, you will be prompted to generate an invoice and then pay online. No other payment methods will be accepted.
Cadet Encampment Assistance Program (CEAP)
TIME SENSITIVE - The application period for this year's CEAP (for Assistance, *not* for encampment itself) closes at 9 PM Alaska time on Monday, 1 May 2025. All cadets applying for CEAP must complete their CEAP application in eServices prior to this time to be considered. Note: Cadets may request financial assistance for *uniforms* as well as for encampment tuition!

Requests for financial assistance via the CEAP program will be managed online through eServices as national funding and cadet eligibility allows. All cadets may apply, and priority will be given first-time student participants. Please contact your unit’s Deputy Commander for Cadets (DCC) for further information.
Refund Policy
All refund requests must be made directly to the Alaska Wing Senior Administrator at encampment@akwg.cap.gov. Refunds requested prior to 29 May 2025 will be honored in full. Any request for refund after 1 June 2025 will be processed at the discretion of the Encampment Commander, who will have the final authority in deciding refund requests. He or she can be reached at encampment@akwg.cap.gov.
Cadets paying for encampment and then later receiving CEAP funding will have their initial payment refunded regardless of date.
Failure to Pay
Any member failing to provide fee payment by 29 May 2025 will forfeit their encampment slot. Extensions to the payment deadline may be granted by the Encampment Commander for extenuating circumstances. These requests must be sent directly to the Encampment Commander for approval. Any member with outstanding fees will be prohibited from attending any other wing, region, or national activity until payment is made.
REGISTRATION
Types of Registrants
Cadet First-time Student: A first-time encampment attendee, or a returning cadet that did not graduate from a previous encampment, is a Cadet Student.
Cadet Advanced Training School (ATS) Student: A student who has previously graduated from an encampment as a first-time student and is attending again as a student is an ATS Student. Note: This year's Advanced Training School will offer Aerospace and Leadership topics, including all the supplies and FAA-approved ground instruction required to complete the FAA Private Pilot-Airplane Knowledge Ground School. Eligible students who pass the ATS final exam will be provided the opportunity to take their FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test.
Cadet Cadre: The Cadet Cadre, or Cadet Staff, will have been previously selected by the Cadet Executive Cadre to serve in the positions of Flight Sergeant and above and in critical support positions.
Senior Member Cadre: Senior members who have previously discussed staffing encampment with the Encampment Commander register under this category.
Procedure
Registration is full. The encampment is limited by the available space and cannot accommodate additional cadets. The 60 first-time and 20 ATS slots are filled. If you hope to attend, PLEASE APPLY TO BE PUT ON THE WAITLIST. Priority will be given to Alaska Wing members to minimize the need for Alaska Wing members to have to travel outside Alaska to attend an encampment.

Several forms are required for registration. Information requested on the forms is listed below. You can save your work mid-registration, so make sure you have all of your information and people who need to sign available when you register.
Multiple registrants in the same family must register separately.
If your information changes after you have completed the registration process (e.g., email address, phone number, mailing address, etc.), email the updated information to encampment@akwg.cap.gov, and please include the cadet's CAPID, last name, first name, and "Updated Contact Information" in the subject line.
Cadet Student (First-time & Advanced Training School (ATS))
If you are going to apply for CEAP, do so before you apply for encampment, otherwise you will be required to pay in full during the registration process. If you have applied for CEAP, you will not be invoiced during registration. After the CEAP application window closes and payments are approved, the encampment registration will show either "Paid in Full" or "Payment Due." You may then return to the registration page and complete you payment, if necessary.
Cadet Cadre
The Cadet Cadre, or Cadet Staff, were selected in January 2025 by the Cadet Executive Cadre to serve in the positions of Flight Sergeant and above, including administrative support positions. Cadets selected for cadre (that process is separate from registration) should register as early as possible.
Senior Member
Senior members that staff encampment register under this option. Senior Members planning to attend less than the full week should still register in this category and note their availability under “Additional Information.”
REQUIRED FORMS
Note: Signatures on all forms are REQUIRED. NO EXCEPTIONS. Some forms may be signed on-line, some not. If you cannot sign a form electronically, it must be printed, signed, and uploaded. You application will not be accepted if your forms are not signed.
When registering, you will be required to upload several forms for each registrant. You can use the links shown below to download the forms, they are the same links provided on the registration page. When completing the forms, you will be asked for the following information. Please have all necessary information available to yourself (including both cadets and parents/guardians for signatures) when you apply. The time required online to register depends on how well you have gathered the below information beforehand. Time online required varies from 10-30 minutes depending on each registrant's specific information.
CAPF 60-81 Application for CAP Encampment Or Special Activity:

These forms are combined into one form.

Permission for Provision of Minor Cadet Over-the-Counter Medication is required for minors only. If you are over 18, either complete it or write "Over 18" in the signature block.

- Check Yes or No for each medication.
- List any allergies and types of reactions applicant has to any over-the-counter medications. If none, please write “none.”

CAPF 160 CAP Member Health History Form
- Name and information of applicant

- Check 'yes” for all applicable health conditions listed. For each "yes" answer, please state the applicable condition in the. For example, if the "Depression, anxiety, suicidal" box is checked, please type in the remarks section which of those conditions is/are applicable to the applicant.
- Dietary restrictions or limitation: if none, please write “none.”
- Past Surgical History: if none, please write “none.”
- Vaccination information: Please complete to the best of your ability. Applicant's doctor’s office may be able to look up requested information in the Alaska-wide VacTrAK database they have access to.
- Medication Information: NOTE: Cadets will be responsible for carrying and administering their own medication, both prescription and over-the-counter. All medication cadets take to encampment must be listed on this form and will be inspected during in-processing. If no medication, please write “none.”
- Stating a Religious Preference is optional. No religious services are planned for this Encampment.

Real ID Requirements
Per Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) policy, all individuals age 16 or older (born on or before June 8, 2009) must present a Real ID or U.S. Passport to access the installation, unless they already possess a JBER Base Pass. You will be required to upload a copy of your Real ID or a current US passport during the registration process. If you do not have the proper ID, you can obtain them and upload them no later than May 22, 2025. Further instructions are on the registration page on the Real ID form.
Written Plan to Return Home
In the event that you become sick, injured or the Encampment Commander determines that you are no longer eligible to participate, you will be removed from the Encampment and returned home. Every Cadet participant must complete the Return Home plan/Liability Release form. This details your plan to be properly escorted from the Encampment by your parent or guardian AT ANY TIME during the Encampment. If your plan is inadequate, your registration will be held until an acceptable signed plan is submitted and approved.
Please complete all blank lines on the form, include a detail description of who will be picking you up from the JBER Boniface Visitor Center at any time beginning when you are dropped off at the Encampment up to Graduation, and include a parent or guardian signature.

It will be updated approximately weekly; please check "current-as-of" the date on the spreadsheet. If you do not see your name on the tracking spreadsheet a week after registering, please email encampment@akwg.cap.gov. If you are not sure whether or not to begin obtaining the items on the packing list, please email encampment@akwg.cap.gov to ask!!
The AKWG Summer Encampment Commander reserves the right to prioritize slots to ensure an equitable distribution of slots across the units of the Alaska Wing as well as targeting cadets who are at/above the cadet grade of Cadet Senior Master Sergeant.
PREPARATION
All encampment participants will experience long, demanding, and very active days. Cadets can expect to be active 16 hours a day. To be successful at the encampment, prior preparation is critical. Arrive at the encampment with the correct equipment, well-rested, and hydrated. Proper hydration will help prevent many common encampment injuries and serve to keep you healthy during a demanding week. Cadets should study available encampment materials prior to encampment. Links to the CAP encampment guide, handbook, and study materials are provided below.
The most common injury at encampment is blisters from brand-new boots. Cadets will spend a lot of time on their feet. Buy your boots and dress shoes well ahead of the encampment and break them in before encampment starts.

TRANSPORTATION
Cadet students arriving from out of the local area via airlines should arrive at the Anchorage International Airport on the morning of 8 June 2025. All cadets planning to arrive at the Anchorage International Airport will be contacted by the Transportation Officer and arrangements will be made to transport those cadets to the encampment and back to the airport at the end of the encampment. Attendees leaving the encampment via airlines should plan on arriving at the Anchorage airport no earlier than 2100 hours (9 pm) on Saturday 14 June 2025.
All current Federal, State of Alaska and CAP travel guidance will be followed.
Cadet students arriving from distant squadrons via ground transportation before 14:00 on 8 June 2025 should coordinate their arrival with the Encampment Commander.
Lodging, food, or ground transportation will not be available for cadet students arriving before 14:00 on 8 June 2025.
Privately-Owned Vehicles
Cadets who drive to encampment must turn in their vehicle keys to the senior staff upon arrival. Cadets, including cadet staff/cadre, will not drive during encampment unless specifically directed to do so.
ARRIVAL / IN-PROCESSING
Cadet cadre will arrive at encampment on Thursday, 5 June 2025 between {start/end time TBD}. They will be contacted in advance, and detailed check-in and arrival arrangements will be provided.
Cadet students shall arrive between 14:00 and 15:00 (2:00 and 3:00 pm) Alaska time on Sunday, 8 June 2025 for in-processing. The arrival point will be the parking lot at the BONIFACE GATE VISITOR CONTROL CENTER FOR JBER. Uniformed CAP personnel will be at the gate and will help cadets board CAP vehicles to be transported to the encampment.
Parents please note: this will likely be the last time that you will see or hear from your child until graduation at 18:30 on Saturday, 14 June 2025. Be sure to say goodbye to your child when dropping them off, and please make sure they have been well fed before arriving, as lunch will not be served on the first day.
Cadets will not drive themselves on base to the encampment. Cadets that drive themselves to the Boniface gate will have to arrange for a vehicle escort onto base and will turn in their vehicle keys once parked at the encampment site.
Early or late arrivals must be coordinated with the Encampment Commander.
LODGING
Families can count on CAP to provide a safe, wholesome environment at all cadet activities. Cadet life is a regimented experience marked by firm rules, clear consequences, and ample adult supervision. Most of all, leadership by positive example is our best tool for creating a space where cadets can thrive.

VISITATION
Visitors are not allowed or authorized at encampment without written permission (may be via email) directly from the Encampment Commander. The encampment takes place on a military installation and, due to Department of Defense security requirements and for the safety and security of all CAP personnel, unscheduled or uncoordinated visitation is prohibited. This restriction applies to family and friends of encampment participants as well as CAP members not assigned to the encampment.

To most effectively, safely do that, we highly recommend all Alaska Wing CAP members activate and use their free CAP GMail.
