Announcing the formation of the Alaska Wing’s Women Leadership Forum!

The forum’s intent is to strengthen skills and relationships to build a stronger organization with a more diverse and engaging membership. The forum is open to people of all genders at any time.  For information on upcoming events and other items of interest (all still in development stage):

The WLF hosted a session at the Wing Conference which had 24 attendees from Alaska Wing, Pacific Region, and National Headquarters. They had two distinguished visitors, the first being Maj Gen Amy Courter, the National CAP commander from 2007-2011. She congratulated the wing on their creation of the forum, spoke on the creation of the forum, and discussed Diversity, Inclusivity, and the difference between Equality and Equity. The second distinguished visitor was PCR Commander (select) Col George Ishikata. The current National Commander Maj Gen Mark Smith wrote a welcome message, acknowledging the females in CAP and leadership positions. Lt Col Elizabeth Sydow the National Diversity Officer also had a welcome message, saying she was excited to see the strengthening of skills and relationships, as well as opportunities.
