REGISTRATION
Types of Registrants:
NCOS Track:
The Non-Commissioned Officer School (NCOS) is available to any AKWG cadets
who will be C/SrA to C/CMSgt during the activity. Cadets with a higher grade will be
accepted if they have not attended an NCOS before. The goal of this training will be
to help NCOs develop the leadership skills and knowledge they need to succeed as
cadet NCOs. The staff will place a heavy emphasis on breaking “squadronisms” with
drill and uniforms. “Squadronisms” are practices that squadrons teach that do not
align with regulations and pamphlets. They will teach all cadets how to read and
interpret these regulations and return to their squadrons with this new knowledge.
They will also be placing a heavy emphasis on the opportunities available to you, as an
active cadet, and how you can get involved. This training will be based on the program
designed by CAWG as part of their Integrated Leadership Plan.
Marksmanship Track:
The Marksmanship Track is available to any AKWG cadets. The goal for this
track is to train participants in gun safety and give them the opportunity to earn the
NRA Marksmanship Badge, which can be worn on the blues uniform (both class A and
B). Cadets will be given the chance to earn qualifications in the NRA Small Bore
course, up to the level of Sharpshooter, using .22 cal rifles. This is the first time ACTA
has offered a course for a specialized badge like this and is a great opportunity for
cadets to branch out beyond regular CAP activities, improve their shooting skills, and
bond with fellow Alaska Wing cadets. Due to range availability, a maximum of 14
cadets may participate.
Emergency Services Track:
The Emergency Services (ES) track is available to any AKWG cadets or senior
members. The track will teach and qualify participants for entry-level qualifications to
start them on the path of GTM, MRO, or Pilot. Those entry-level qualifications we plan
to cover are first aid, introduction to communications training, and knowledge of the
FEMA emergency command structure. The ES track will guide you through the
prerequisites for further ES training at the May 2024 ACTA, planned for Sitka. Some of
the courses can be long, challenging, or hard to find, so if you want to get started in
ES, this is an excellent opportunity to do so!

If you have been selected in the application process please register as cadet
staff. If you have not been selected as staff, please do not register as cadet staff.
